I am now a tenth grader at a different school getting around a 3.7 taking 4 honors classes. If I continue these grades, and get around 2,000 on the SAT's, where could I go to college? Could I get into UCLA or USC or NYU or GEORGE WASHINGTON? These were the schools I was hoping to go to, and I truly hope I don't have to alter my dreams....any suggestions?I was recently expelled from High School. Can I still go to a good college? You shouldn't have a problem with being expelled early in your High School history. It is most likely you will never have to make an explanation of what happened on a college admissions application. And if you do, honestly explain why you were expelled and how you have learned from the experience.
After your tests and GPA, the most critical evaluation of recruiting is the interview with a recruiter. Work on improving your interview skills. If the recruiter likes you the issue of being expelled (if it is even brought up) won't be a concern.I was recently expelled from High School. Can I still go to a good college? You can go to a good school, just prove that that is in your past and steer clear of trouble. Good luck!I was recently expelled from High School. Can I still go to a good college?yeah, i know someone with a similar story. just keep up the grades and you'll be fineI don't know about specific schools' policies, but you should put together a letter spelling out what happened, that you've learned your lesson and detailing your accomplishments since then. Also, speak to you guidance counselor鈥hey'll have a good idea on how to proceed.Yes, you can easily go to a good school, but maybe not as a freshman. What you do is TRANSFER in as a sophomore. There are not many slots for freshmen, but quite a bit more space for transferring sophomores. They look at your grades in college at that point. They don't care what your SATs or high school grades are. The only exception would be a biological sciences test if you were going into that major, but you can take that as a freshman. Colleges only send transcripts of college grades and I don't think any college even asks about high school at that point.
So, my suggestion is to go to apply to a reasonably good school and transfer later.
BTW, your school did have a choice. They did not have to expel you. Incidences like these are one reason to homeschool. People with godlike power who abuse it.I doubt it will be that much of a problem. Base your personal statement on what lessons you've learned and say that your'e now on the straight and narrow. Colleges love that kind of sappy stuff.you probably can still get into a good college but maybe not the one you want unless you work extra hard!!!! they will know you got expelled so that will bring you down but if you so hard they wont be able to say noit mainly depends on those particular colleges. make sure they know that all the stuff that happened is in your past and you'll be fine. also keep up the good grades.
